Spicy and sweet tomato paste: the best recipes
Tomato paste is one of the most necessary products in any home. Take a few hours to cook it and you will delight your family and guests with dishes based on it all winter.
Spicy Tomato Paste Recipe Ingredients List:
- ripe tomatoes — 3 kg;
- onion — 500 g;
- purified water — 1 stack;
- 6% bite — 200 ml;
- hot pepper — 2 tsp;
- bay leaf — 2 pcs.;
- mustard powder — 2 tablespoons;
- black peppercorns — 6 pcs.
Remove the skin from the tomato, cut them into halves or slices (depending on the size of the fruit). Finely chop the onion. Place the tomatoes and onions in a saucepan, cover with a glass of water and cook over medium heat. After 15 minutes have passed since the tomatoes began to boil, remove the pan from the heat and puree the tomatoes. The easiest way to do this is with a sieve.
Vinegar is prepared as follows: it is heated, brought to a boil and allowed to cool. Only after that he goes to the tomatoes. Boil tomatoes (already with vinegar) 4 times. Add spices to them and boil for another 5 minutes. Pour the pasta from the pan into the jars and cover them. Do not touch the jars until they are cold.
Sweet Tomato Paste Recipe Ingredients List:
- tomatoes — 1.5 kg;
- soft ripe apples — 300 g;
- medium bulb;
- salt — 1 tbsp;
- ground pepper — 1 tsp;
- vinegar (apple) — 50 ml.
The skin should be removed from the tomato. Before that, they are doused with boiling water, so that the skin peels off much easier. In addition to it, the tomatoes are also cleaned of the green stalk and the juicy soft center. Apples also get rid of the skin and parts with seeds. They are cut and sent along with the tomatoes to the pan. There will also be finely chopped onions. Boil everything together for 20 minutes, cool and puree. You can use a blender or even a regular sieve for this. The saucepan with mashed potatoes is returned to the stove again. It should be boiled for 40 minutes, then spices and vinegar are added to it. Another 15 minutes of boiling — and the pasta is cooked. Hot paste is poured into sterilized glass jars, which are then wrapped warmly. Wait for cooling — and the pasta is ready to eat!
